Recently, Confucius Institute at University of Rwanda together with Sino-Geological Rwandan Branch Company challenged a friendly table tennis match with Rwandan Remern Table Tennis Club, the match was for the group, the players were classifed into two teams - China and Rwanda, after five hours’ intense battle, the match came to a successful conclusion.To Confucius institute, the match can serve as a way to teach Rwandan Chinese, thus it could have such an better opportunity to communicate with the native.We also hope through it we can have more ways to communicate with the locals, teach them how to learn Chinese in constant communication and let them better understand China and Chinese culture.
During the first set, Wu Zhenji, teacher of Confucius Institute at University of Rwanda versus Rwandan player who had accepted the professional training in Shanghai. As the center of China team players, Mr Wu was calm when confronting professional players for the first time. Dbserving the two players, one was an experienced formally trained player,the other was a self-taught, amateur player of professional level, one was skillful and aggressive, the other was calm and unchanged dealing with constant changes. "Strike!" "Strike!" Two players had wonderful techniques, won cheers from the audience. Both the serve and the control of the ball were awesome. Local people also learned how to say"strike" in Chinese. For the players, this was not only just a game, but also a chance for selt-teaching and improving.
Observing the other side, is the so-called female equals to a man, Zhao Lijun , volunteer from Confucius Institute at University of Rwanda versus womon player from Rwanda National Team. The two players competed for the winner, which can be called diamond cut diamond, it is a great race that won the audience's consistent praise.
This 5 hours’ intense match, not only is a test of the players’ skills, but also a competition of physical strength and endurance of the players. A player hardly had time to rest before challenging another player. Especially in the end of the match, the players are hungry, but no one is careless. Each player was skilled, had its own unique technique, they together showed a high standard table tennis match for us.
After the match, President of Rwanda Remern Table Tennis Club awarded a cup to China Team, and said, this is the first time they compete with China, the Chinese table tennis is famous in the world, the game let them better understand China and Chinese table tennis, they hoped they could have more opportunity to conduct such match for experience exchanges.
