New teaching site in Kigali ,"Chinese Mania" is on the rise
—Kigali Institute of science and technology setting Chinese classes
On December 9, 6 ：00 PM, Rwanda Institute of science and technology opened Chinese class in the its classroom, The third college Chinse teaching site has been set in Rwanda officially and it is also the second college Chinse teaching site in the capital city, Kigali.
Academic director James says that he hope that through Chinese teaching, it will help local college students to learn more about China and promote bilateral cultural exchanges, strengthen intercollege cooperation and promote the development of the city. This helps to enlarge the influence of Chinese language and Chinese culture in Rwanda, meet the needs of more local people to learn Chinese. He hopes the flower of Chinese in continuous bloom in Rwanda , enhance the friendship between the people of two nations.
At Institute of science and technology ,students and teachers' enthusiasm of learning Chinese is very high, at present, nearly 20 students and 60 college teachers have signed up for the class.
On the first day of the Class, many teachers and students came. There were more than one hundred trainees in Chinese teacher Suwen’s class, many students even stood at the edge of the corridor to listen while took notes. Local reporters interview Teacher Su, who said proudly, students in Institute of science and technology are now take capability to speak Chinese as fashion, and proud of it.
Early in December, 2008, Confucius institute at UR/CE launched the teaching program, it has successively set program in Sino-Rwanda Friendship Girls' Secondary School at INYANGE in northern province, Sino-Rwanda Friendship Secondary School in eastern province (CATSIBO COMMUNITY MODEL SCHOOL), HUYE Secondary School in southern province, KSS Secondary School in northern province, University of Science and Technology at NYGATARE in eastern province. Thus, raised a hot wave of learning Chinese in Rwanda.
Since 2014, universities of Rwanda have integrated teaching resources, Confucius institute at UR/CE take this opportunity to creat Chinese learning cooperational agreement with Rwanda Institute of science and technology.
