In November 8th, the United Asian and African Confucius Institute Autumn Camp ended at the Chongqing Normal University. 20 teachers and students from Confucius Institute at University of Rwanda/ College of Education and a 20 teachers’ group from Sri Lanka gathered at Chongqing Normal University, ended two weeks of Chinese language and culture of Bayu experience tour.
Hosted by Chinese Hanban and Chongqing Normal University, the 2014 Asian and African Confucius institute Joint Autumn Camp held its opening ceremony on October 28, 40 students from Rwanda and Sri Lanka officially opened the prelude of ba-yu culture experience.
On the opening ceremony, LeiYong,Dean of international office of Chongqing Normal University, on behalf of university , gave a warm welcome to teachers and students from two Confucius institutes at Rwanda and Sri Lanka. He said that there exists profound traditional friendship between Chinese and Rwandan,China and the Sri Lanka, the activitity of Asian and African Confucius Institute Joint Autumn Camp is not only beneficial to deepen our campers’ understanding of China, Chongqing and Chongqing Normal University, but also will benifit the campers’ further studying Chinese knowledge and Chinese culture, serve as the angel of the longstanding friendship among three countries , make contribution for the further cooperation.
International Office at Chongqing Normal University make considerate arrangement for the course and schedule of the Autumn Camp. In 12 days , our university sent experienced full-time teachers and experts and professors to teach Chinese language and Chinese culture courses, learning content included paper cutting, folk songs, folk music, and hired advanced martial arts teachers and dance teachers to give Chinese kung fu and Chinese national dance lectures and rehearsals. In addition, we also arranged the rich and colorful cultural experience, including charming mountain city travel, Chongqing Three Gorges Museum visit, garden expo, zoo, Ciqikou town folk culture experience, appreciating the Chinese tea culture and practicing Chinese calligraphy, visit dazu county " hometown of stone carving " and the revolutionary holy land HongYa cave. Through "a tour by high-railway" shuttle between central city and the university town, foreign students perceived China's humanities and natural landscape.
Students and teachers participating "autumn camp" ended their unforgettable trip and went home on November 8. At the end of the closing farewell feast, students from Rwanda and Sri Lanka expressed that they deeply felt the enthusiasm and hospitality from teachers and students of Chongqing Normal University; All members, through the zero-distance contact with the rountine life of Chinese People, fully immersed in Chinese culture activities, made up their mind to learn Chinese with more efforts, struggle to study and work in China as soon as possible. Relevant leaders also summarizes the great significance of the Asian and African Joint Autumn Camp:the two Confucius institutes are the important platform for the three institutes, , it laid a mutual bridge of cooperation, friendship among China, Rwanda and Sri Lanka, provides opportunities not only for learning Chinese and understanding Chinese culture and Chinese civilization; meanwhile, also make more foreign friends have the opportunity to understand civilization and culture of other Asian countries by the window of Confucius institute , future deepen the friendship between countries.
