February 2018, Mrs.Vasta was sad that Jane didn’t go to the university. She insights that her to do a professional short course like swelling,hair dressing, etc. But the economic situation doesn’t permit. Mr. Samuel, Jane’s father afford her fees for those courses. Our Jane doesn’t blame her parents for not affording her university; during the discussion, Jane told them smiley: Babyeyi,muhumurenta cyo mutakoze, nzabau mucuruziu komeye”(Dear parents, don’t worry, I will be an international business-woman).
MINEDUC published the national exam’s result for final year in high school. Miss MUKARUBADUKA Jeanne d’Arca’s marks which allows her to apply at public universities but this was not enough to start university studies due to UBUDEHE’s categories. Jane didn’t got discourage; she started a small business to sell avocados in her neighborhood, KADUHA. Three months later, Mr.Francisco,Jane‘s brother joked with her: ”Is a lute Miss Jane, exporter of avocados to China“.She replied:”may this come true.”
Lately, Francisco looked at me: let’s talk seriously, Jane,I want you to study Chinese language, so You will known more than two international business languages. Look, there is Confucius Institute at UR, you can study there Chinese”. I respond to him:”I will do it”.
Tuesday, 22nd October, 2018, Teacher Liu gave a small test to our class to write our names in Chinese and she called our names in Chinese. When I turn to get my results, she congratulated me because I passed the test at unexpected level due to join her class two weeks later than others. This test encourage me and I dreamed being a translator of Chinese at a Chinese company working in Rwanda.
On 17th March, 2020, the government of Rwanda suspended the face to face learning due to COVID-19 Pandemic. MINEDUC emphasise-learning which our CIUR adopt quickly.
DingDing, my cellular phone ring tone. It is my classmate John‘s call.
John: Hello Jane.
Me: Hey!!
John: How are doing? I am very bored, normal we should be at school but we are stuck at home.
Me: Sorry, it is for our benefit to stay home.
John: The school will be suspended?
Me: Nooo. man, didn’t you know that we will continue our studies online. By where check your whatsApp, there is a group called CIUR, class2020for our class, so we continue to study and stay in touch with our friends, teachers.
John: wou. ahhh, this is amazing!!! Thanks a lot for update.
Me: U’r welcome. Man, I didn’t get opportunity to thank my teachers and my classmates for their support through this journey at CIUR.
John :Me too, I hope that we will return at school very soon so I could tell them how much I appreciate them.
Me: To return to school needs our commitment in staying at home. GUMAMURUGO, STAY AT HOME.
Teacher Liu called me to check if I follow the courses on WhatsApp group, she gives me her weekly schedule. I could contact her for any help. Every Tuesday, I except always the call from one of my teachers.
