My name is Blaise Rugaba, My journey of learning Chinese started in november, 2019 at Confucius Institute located in UR-Campus (College of Education in Kigali). After making registration, it was around 6:00 pm first time when I entered in classroom. I was late but happy because I started to achieve my dream that one day I will go to China. The followings are things happened in my journey since that time up to now.
First thing in this journey was to see our teacher welcomed us with happiness in her class, even if it was good in that time but I was little anxiety because of new classmates and teacher, apart of that I heard that Chinese is hard language reality I was afraid.
Second thing in this journey was on another level because they have given me new name from Blaise Rugaba to Chinese name Lǔ Yáng ( 鲁阳). I was proud of my new name and I repeated it in reading, writing many times. They explained the meaning of our names with my classmates, we were happy for knowing what our name mean.
Thirdly was about our daily life in learning Chinese with our teacher. This is good time I heard when I attend class or when am teaching myself , because our teacher explain course clearly and she gave some exercises even dictation also she use all form of teaching to give us knowledge.
In fact learning mandarin in consistency makes us to like it even if time we had in class sometimes is small but Iresearch time a day like 1 hour of learning or review new lesson in mandarin such as writing, listening and speaking every time to increase my level.
Lastly, this is not my ending of my journey of learning but is the ending of beginning of this journey, because now I saw the importance of learning Chinese language, even if we are in this pandemic of Covid-19, we quite our class but our teacher help us to stay focused on what we started. Also I put much effort on learning that I will come to school with new skills.
Briefly, may I call this part one of my journey of learning Chinese because I still in low level but I use much effort to reach high level, I hope when I reach in HSK 4 or 5 after passing exam, I will tell more about my effort I used and other more importance of learning Chinese on my behalf. Enclose I want to thank our teacher for motiving us and continue to encourage more of friend and others to learn Chinese with purpose.
