I am a Chinese language student, my Rwandan name is TUYIZERE ROGER; Chinese name is Yin Shiheng(尹士恒).
The successful people in this world which is developing very quickly are those who are very competitive than others, and one of the way of being competitive is to know the useful languages which help to communicate with people from different parts of the world.
Chinese language is used by many people in the world and is used by UN when conducting official business; undoubtedly is one of very useful language. Now, it is my great pleasure to share with you my learning Chinese experience.
When learning Chinese came to our campus it was in the beginning of academic year of 2017-2018 and I was in my last year of studies. It seemed to be a big chance to me that I didn’t ever think to have but also the chance that I don’t have to lose because I thought that Chinese language is very useful and yet I have undoubtedly confirmed it.
Learning Chinese was a chance for me but at the beginning, my colleagues were saying that learning Chinese is wasting time for nothing because of thinking that it is hard to make even one sentence.After starting, my teacher used to tell me that my pronunciation is good; she told me that if I study hard without giving up sincerely, I will become a good Chinese language speaker. It was not easy by that time to study Chinese together with completing all academic tasks as a student in last year but I tried hard taking all as my responsibilities.
I worked hard, after three months of learning Chinese; On behalf of ourcampus, I attended Chinese Bridge competition and in August of 2018, I attended“China- Africa” Youth summer Camp. I got a taste of the charm of Chinese cultures and I also experienced advanced scientific and cultural knowledge, at last I made good friends from African countries and China as well. The following are some experiences I got from “China-Africa’ Youth Summer Camp.

After two weeks in China, I came back and continue to study hard, after studying Chinese for only about one year, I passed the Chinese proficiency test band 4 (HSK level 4)with excellent results and after two years I passed the HSK-5 with 229 marks. I also worked in different Chinese companies as a translator.

Now, my Chinese teacher tried her best to help me to apply for scholarship to go to china for my further study. If succeed, in China, I will study Chinese cultures and advanced scientific knowledge. After my studies, I will come back and make my due contributions to the construction of a beautiful Rwanda and Rwanda-China friendship as well.
